Professor Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts, Tanta University, chaired a coordination meeting for the Crises and Disasters Unit and the Occupational Safety and Health Committee at the college, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Sheikh, Head of the Department of Ready-made Clothes and Fashion Industry, the distinguished faculty members and the director of the unit, Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Shahat, a teacher in the Department of Textile Printing, Dyeing and Preparing, the Secretary-General of the College, and the distinguished members of the administrative staf.
The meeting discussed the activation of the crisis management unit at the college and stressed the importance of dealing with the crisis before it occurs. The director of the unit at the college reviewed the unit’s work plan, including courses and workshops on crisis management, the evacuation plan, and first aid, and discussed ways to avoid fires.
The Dean of the College also stressed the application of safety standards to preserve buildings and lives, and stressed the importance of training individuals from the College and forming a team to visit the facility periodically.
